I've worked crime scenes with multiple bodies, but I can't imagine a building with over a hundred murder victims. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those poor souls, and with the investigators and crime scene techs that had to meticulously document everything and everyone, too. It will haunt most of them, forever.
It's time for the entire world to take the gloves off, isn't it? What I mean by that is, rather than wait until they are targeted, every nation on this planet should presume that ISIS is a very real and credible threat to them. Let's face it, the fundamentalist Islamic terror groups are just as real a threat as the Nazis and Japanese of the 1940's. They do want to take over the world, and they are zealous enough to believe they can. They have already taken several countries under their grip in Africa, and unless the world locks arms with us, ISIS can conduct a clean sweep of the Middle East, and Israel will be their prize. I'll go as far to say that the Muslim Brotherhood-affected movement (which includes Al-queda, ISIS, Hamas, Boko Haram, et al) has far more endurance than Nazi Germany or Japan ever did, because they have one major characteristic that those two did not: They won't surrender, because they are happy to die. They've proven it. We've seen terrorist attacks way back to the 1970's when a truck full of explosives killed over 200 Marines in Beirut, and there has been attack after attack since then. As we kill them on the battlefield, there are little kids being born all over the world who will be brought up in the psychotic homicidal/suicidal indoctrination of fundamentalist Islam, and by their teens they will be ready strap on a vest full of C4 or storm a school, or walk onto a commercial airliner, and proudly wreak havoc and mayhem.
I didn't start out this blog to talk geo-politics, but this stuff is bothering me, just like it's probably bothering you and lots of other people, like the homicide investigators in Paris, whose sleep will never be the same.
